Featuring network capability, easy-to-use controls, added security features and advanced image-optimizing technology- the LV-7280 epitomizes convenience while producing images of the superior quality for which Canon is renowned. The LV-7280 was designed with a high-efficiency power supply, and other energy-saving features such as sleep timer, quick startup and a carbon meter. The projector also features DVI-I support and less than 1W standby power consumption. In addition, the projector's improved lamp lighting system can now deliver up to 5,000 hours of lamp life. Compact and lightweight, the LV-7280's built-in carrying handle makes for easy transportation to wherever presentations are needed.

Native XGA Resolution (1024 x 768)
The LV-7280 offers native XGA resolution (1024 x 768) for your images, making it a perfect match for your laptop computer. In addition, the LV-7280 supports WXGA resolution through high-quality compression, to match the resolution of your wide screen laptop or pc.

2200 Lumens
With a powerful 2200 lumens, the LV-7280 delivers incredible image quality and brightness. Even in a classroom or office with high levels of ambient light, your audience will be sure to see every brilliant detail of your presentation. You can even use your LV-7280 to present in front of large audiences in conference and boardroom environments. And you'll be able to use that brightness longer, thanks to a long life lamp that delivers up to 5,000 hours of use in Quiet Mode.

1.2x Optical Zoom Lens
The 1.2x optical zoom lens faithfully projects images while offering ease of placement, allowing you to easily change the screen size to accommodate various venues and/or applications- regardless of space limitations.

The LV-7280's short throw distance allows you to project 100-inch images from only 10.2 feet, making the LV-7280 easy to setup in large rooms. Only 8.2 feet are needed for 80-inch projections, making the it ideal for classrooms and small meeting rooms.

High Contrast with Built-In Auto Iris
Offering high contrast when projecting images in varying light conditions, the LV-7280 features a fast response auto-iris setting that automatically controls the light intensity projected. Allowing the projector to reach a contrast ratio of 2000:1, the LV-7280 will display clean, rich blacks- faithfully reproducing images and video with high contrast and clarity.

Lamp Life Up to 5,000 Hours
By improving the lamp lighting system used in previous models, the LV-7280's lamp allows for up to 4,000 hours in Normal Mode, and up to 5,000 hours in Quiet Mode. This new lamp lighting system also reduces CO2 emissions from the projector.

Time and Energy Efficient
Improved Lamp Lighting System
An improved lamp lighting system helps to reduce power consumption and CO2 emissions by operating the lamp at a lower wattage without reducing lamp intensity. This energy saving improvement also extends lamp life.

Power Saving Stand-By Mode
Designed for energy savings, the standby power can be reduced to less than 1W by setting the Stand-by mode to "Power Saving." Even if the projector is ceiling installed and the main power switch cannot be turned off- reduced power consumption can still be maintained.

Carbon Reduction Meter
Carbon savings meter calculates the energy-saving effects of operating the projector in Quiet Mode, and displays the amount of CO2 emissions reduction.

In addition, an environment-friendly message is displayed when the projector is turned on, as a gentle reminder to users that saving energy reduces carbon emissions.

Auto Energy Saver
The projectors will automatically go into Quiet mode when no input signal is received for 1 minute, which saves energy and prolongs the life of the lamp.

Quick Start
A convenient and energy saving feature allows the projector to power up in only 8-seconds, avoiding presentation delays and reducing the amount of energy spent compared to other projectors that have a longer warm-up period.

Quick Power-Off
When turned off from the remote control or projector’s control panel, no cool down period is required. The projector can be put away immediately after powering down.

Sleep Timer
When selected, this power management feature will automatically turn off the projector after a designated period of no operation; 5, 10, 20, or 30 minutes.

Off Timer
The Off Timer is a power management feature that can be set to automatically turn the device off after a specific time. Eight preset time options are selectable: Off, 0:30, 1:00, 2:00, 4:00, 8:00, 12:00 and 16:00.

Color Management
The LV-7280 has many built in features that allow you to optimize the color of the images being projected.

Fine Tune Color Adjustments
The LV-7280 allows users to manually fine-tune colors and black tones for precise, customized on-screen image adjustment. Instead of having just one master control, the projectors offer individual adjustment for color levels and color balance (not available for the RGB input), as well as brightness, contrast, and sharpness.

Screen Color Correction
Useful when a projection screen is not available, the projectors Screen Color Correction feature allows you to project directly onto a wall, correcting the distortion of colors caused by the color of the projection surface. The projectors let you choose from 8 different projection surface colors.

Whiteboard Mode
In addition to the 8 screen colors, a Whiteboard Mode is also available for projecting images onto whiteboards. The Whiteboard Mode dramatically reduces the reflective "bright spots" on a whiteboard, helping to maintain genuine color recreation. The often used green blackboard is expecially usedfull in the classroom setting.

Image Optimization
The LV-7280 offers a variety of features to optimize the image or video you are projecting:

Image Modes
The LV-7280 allows you to appropriately optimize your projections using one of five automatic image modes.
- Presentation — Ideal for presentations using PowerPoint.
- Video — For projecting standard video, such as TV broadcasts.
- Cinema — For projecting film-based video, such as movies (DVD or HDTV).
- Standard — When maximum color accuracy is desired for viewing graphics.
- sRGB — For reproducing color adapted to the sRGB color space; suitable for sRGB content.

In addition, a "Detail Settings" menu allows you to further customizing the projection mode. Select any image mode and make desired adjustments, such as for brightness, contrast, and sharpness.

Aspect Ratio
The size of your projections can also be changed to match the type of image desired, by making adjustments to one of the 4 aspect ratio settings.
- Auto — Adjusts the aspect ratio from 4:3 of traditional televisions and computer monitors to 16:9, 15:9, or 16:10.
- Wide Zoom — Modifys the standard 4:3 ratio by enlarging the image, cropping from the top and bottom, and eliminating the need for black side bars.
- Letter Box — Best for native 16:9 content.
- True Size — Adjusts the ratio aspects in the best way to fit the screen without strongly altering the image from what intended originally.

Automatic Keystone Adjustment
The LV-7280 gives you further flexibility by adapting to the environment with the automatic keystone adjustment. Simply place your projector on a flat surface, and keystone will correct automatically with no buttons to push, making setup a breeze! Built-in sensors detect the tilt of the projector and automatically correct for keystone distortion — up to +/- 30 degrees vertically. Of course, you can still adjust keystone correction manually.

Flexible Connectivity with DVI-I Terminal
The LV-7280 connects to a variety of devices, including laptop and desktop computers, DVD players, digital cameras and camcorders, and VCRs. HDMI devices are connectable using a HDMI to DVI adapter. Many desktop PCs cannot be connected to both a projector and monitor at the same time. The LV-7280's Monitor Out terminal allows for an external monitor to be connected to the projector- a practical feature in settings where the projector is hooked up to a desktop computer. In addition, the projectors network capabilities allows you to control projectors from a central location.

DVI-I Interface (HDCP Compliant)
The LV-7280’s DVI-I interface provides an all-digital connection between the projector and an input source. It avoids the signal conversion step required by analog connections, and thus maintains high signal integrity. This results in a clearer picture, with no flickering, blurred lines, ghost images, or coloration problems with text display.

The interface is also compliant with HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection), ensuring a digital connection between HDCP compliant devices, such as many of today’s cable boxes, DVD and Blu-Ray players.

The high quality of the DVI-I connection makes the new LV-7280 projector ideal for high defintion TV, and is compatible with 1080i and 720p video signals.

Projector Control and Management
The LV-7280 gives you the flexibility to both manage and control all of the projectors on your network.

Network Connectivity
A built-in RJ-45 network connection allows you to control projectors from a central location, making it easy to install and manage a large scale system. The network connection also enables the projector to send out an email alert when an error has occurred, or when the lamp has reached the end of its life. Projectors can also be managed locally using the built-in RS-232 terminal. In addition, all projectors support AMX device discovery.

Management Software
Canon’s new monitoring software allows audio/visual personnel to monitor entire groups of projectors connected by a common network, and is helpful in providing timely service support- as well as maintenance management. Users can choose which items to display from projector name, power status, product name, lamp hours used, air filter hours used and IP address.

Advanced User Security
The LV-7280 has a variety of security features to prevent unauthorized access and theft.

Password Protection
The projector's built-in password protection ensures that only authorized users are able to start and operate the projector. At startup, a display will appear and prompt the user to enter a password set in advance by the projector’s owner. Users cannot get past this screen until the password is correctly entered.

Control Panel Key Lock
The projectors are equipped with a Key Lock function, used to disable the keys on the projector’s control panel, making the projector operable only from the remote control. This feature is helpful in preventing interruptions due to someone accidentally touching the control panel.

Kensington Lock
Prevent theft of un-attended projectors by using the built-in Kensington Lock, a small, metal-reinforced hole used for attaching lock-and-cable apparatus. Secure and protect the projector with no unsightly components to glue or stick onto the projector.

User Friendly Design
The LV-7280's user friendly design has a variety of features that make using the projector a snap.

Easy-to-Use Control Panel
During your presentation, you will be able to stay focused thanks to the projector's new user-friendly control panel. Easily control the volume, make menu selections and switch between four different input sources with the touch of a button. With buttons resembling those of simple-to-understand printers and copy machines, the projector’s control panel operations are a cinch. The projector can also be controlled using the wireless IR remote control.

Tab-Style Menu
The projector's intuitive tab-style on-screen menu makes it easier than ever to navigate through projector settings. Simple tabs of white text on a black background allow clear visibility to select the appropriate settings at a glance. All menu options are available in 21 different languages.

Quiet Operation
No matter where you decide to use your projector, the LV-7280 will operate at a low 35dB in Normal Mode and 29dB in Quiet Mode. The cooling system has been designed to dissipate heat, while keeping the noise level at a minimum.

The LV-7280 also has a Fan Mode, that allows you to adjust the fan speed to a rate appropriate for varying situations. Choose from Auto, High, and High Altitude (Atmospheric Pressure) modes. Auto mode offers the most quiet operation.

Portable and Convenient
Although the LV-7280 can easlity be ceiling installed, the projector was designed with a variety of features that make it ideal for portable use.

Compact and Lightweight
Weighing only 7.3 lbs. (3.3 kg) and measuring only 12.5"w x 13.2"d x 4.4"h (317mm x 336mm x 111mm), the LV-7280 is both lightweight and versatile, making it it a preferred choice for those on the go. The projectors can also operate as a front or rear screen projector, and can be mounted on the ceiling.

Built-In Carrying Handle
A carrying handle has been integrated into the main unit, making transporting the projector easier than ever before. In addition to the increased portability, the exterior combines functionality with style. By using light colors such as pearl white and gray, the projector easily blends in elegantly with most interiors.

Lens Cover
The lens cover protects the entire area around the lens, protecting the lens from dust that can penetrate into gaps of the zoom lever and focus ring.

7-Watt Speakers
The LV-7280 is equipped with high output 7-watt speakers, making it is possible for audio to be heard clearly in most classrooms and conference rooms.

Closed Captioning
Unlike many projectors, the LV-7280 is now able to display closed captioning information. This new feature will clearly benefit those in your audience with hearing impairments, making it easier for them to understand difficult dialog.

Simple Installation and Maintenance
The LV-7280 was built with a variety of features and functionality that it easy to install, use and maintain.

Direct Power-On
The LV-7280 has 2 modes for directly powering the unit:

AC Mode
Useful for ceiling installed projectors, this feature will automatically turn on the projector when the power cord is plugged into an outlet- eliminating the need to press the power switch on the unit- a practical function when the projector is not directly accessible.

Computer Synch Mode
This smart feature will automatically turn on the projector when a computer is connected and an input signal is detected. The projector will automatically synchronize with your computers screen's pixel configuration.

Digital Image Shift
These projectors allow you to display widescreen content through high-quality compression. As a result, when widescreen content is displayed, pixels above and below the image are not used. The projectors Digital Image Shift conveniently allows you to move the projected image up or down on the screen, into these unused pixels without any further compression. This ability to "fine tune" the placement of the projected image can be useful when projecting onto a fixed screen, or when stacking projectors for increased brightness.

Easy Access Lamp
An opening for replacing the lamp has been installed on the top of the projectors. Even if a projector is installed on the ceiling, the projectors lamp can be replaced without having to move the projector. In addition, a replacement counter will display a message indicating the time when lamps and filters need replacing.

New Filter Design
The newly designed air-filter has the ability to significantly improve dust filtration over that of previous models. Textiles in an "accordion" construction have three times the filtering surface for a three-fold increase in dust filtration. A newly improved filter cover design further protects the internal optics of the projector by preventing intrusive dust and dirt from filling the inlet gaps.
